About Me

Hi, my name is Khuram.

Hi there! I’m Khuram – and I’m obsessed with all things tech. I’ve spent nearly fifteen years building, buying, and selling digital technology businesses. These days I am the President and CEO of an investment firm called Softstone Capital Group. Softstone does deep fundamental analysis on companies that are disrupting the status quo, primarily within the digital technology industry, and aims to invest in them at attractive valuations.

Before my work at Softstone, I founded an e-commerce business called Clear Spark. At Clear Spark, we focused on building innovative digital technology infrastructure in the early days of the social commerce space. We then leveraged our digital technology infrastructure by building partnerships with many of the biggest internet retail companies in the world (Amazon, Groupon, Living Social, Overstock, etc). I was fortunate to sell Clear Spark to a boutique Chicago-based private equity firm called 6E.

A few years before that, I was on the direct-to-consumer side of the e-commerce sector, at a company called ZQ Network. We were one of the early companies to build digital dropship technology and pair it with cutting-edge digital marketing to sell direct-to-consumer in a wide variety of categories (power equipment, wedding supplies, baby essentials, gourmet gifts, fitness accessories, etc).

Over the last decade or so, I’ve been involved with all aspects of the digital technology business at various other entities (Modern Sharp, Blade Brands Group, EverTrust MD, OVI, etc), and my work has been recognized by a number of different leading media outlets (Inc, Forbes, Thrive, Tech Co, etc). My monthly newsletter (This Month in Tech) goes out to over 40,000+ readers and my whitepaper (The State of Digital Deviation) has been seen by over 35,000+ readers.

I believe every experienced entrepreneur has an obligation to give back to the next wave of up-and- coming entrepreneurs, so my current passion is passing on my learnings from both my successes and failures. Additionally, I proudly support various charities that are doing incredible work in causes I really believe in (Habitat For Humanity International, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Feeding America).

I’ve been fortunate to attend a number of fine educational institutions (Georgia State University, Northwood University, Georgia Gwinnett College, & Charter Oak State College), and live in the vibrant Greater Atlanta Area.

Outside of work, I am a bit obsessed with fitness, and hit the gym five-to-six days a week. Other indulgences include strong coffee, playing chess in the park, cooking while listening to podcasts, page turning books, traveling the world without an itinerary, slow mornings, and long uninterrupted walks in nature.
